L1 John David Barrett, was born January 30, 1939 in Frederick, Maryland, and passed away on Sunday, December 30, 2007, at Atlantic General Hospital in Berlin, Maryland. He married Linda Arlene Gladfelter April 23, 1965 in Reading, Pennsylvania, daughter of Paul Gladfelter and Rosaleen Snyder. Three children.

John David Barrett is a veteran of the USMC 1959-1961. He has worked in Insurance and construction management, and is currently semi-retired in Ocean City, Maryland.

Linda Arlene Gladfelter is a graduate Albright College, BA, 1965. She worked as an evaluator for the Cerebral Palsy Association of Montgomery County, Maryland 1968, an Industrial Therapist, Wernersveille State Hospital, Pennsylvania 1965-1967, and as Director for the Center for the Handicapped, Prince George's County, Maryland 1969-1972.

John David Barrett

OCEAN CITY -- John David Barrett, 68, died Sunday, Dec. 30, 2007, at Atlantic General Hospital in Berlin. Born in Maryland, he was a son of the late Dawson Horine and Betty J. Engle Horine. He is survived by his beloved wife, Linda A. Barrett; a son, Ronald Joseph Barrett and his wife, Hagit; two daughters, Andrea Robbins and her husband, Daniel, and Tara Barrett; a brother, Jesse Miles; sisters, Barbara Trella and her husband, Angelo, Elizabeth Ann Meredith and her husband, Sam, and Sarah Miles; grandchildren, Maia, Karin, Jonathan Barrett, Michael Cooper, Ashley Lewis, Holland Lewis Jr., Shawn Lewis, Daniel Robbins, Brianna and Kallie Gravenor; and one great-grandson, John David Cooper.

Mr. Barrett enjoyed spending his time doing genealogy research.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Burbage Funeral Home in Berlin, where friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Chaplain Gail Mansell will officiate. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park.
