I9 Martin H. Horine was born January 12, 1850, and died December 02, 1927, both buried Luthean Cemetery, Myersville, Maryland. He married Mary Ellen A. R. Shank 1867. Mary Ellen Shank was born April 1, 1851, died July 19, 1897. She was the daughter of Jacob Shank (1823-1906) and Mahala Ann Sophia Bowlus (8/27/1830-3/20/1866), daughter of Adam Bowlus. No date has been established for their wedding. Two children.

Martin appears in the 1850 census as 5 months old living with his parents in the Middletown district. Also residing in the house at that time were George H. 23, (laborer), Sarah A. 20, Lawson L. 19 (laborer) (married Elizabeth Ann Dutrow 1/3/1854), John H. 17 (later married Jennie M Harp) , Adam S. (?) 14, Mahlon C. 12, Mary C. 7, and Joshua D. Martin is again listed in the 1880 census (H650-Vol 13- 5). He is still living with his father; John H., age 76, mother, Catherine, age 73. Martin is listed as 30 years old, his wife, Mary Ellen, age 28, Alvey J., age 11, and Minnie age 10.
