H7 Tobias Horine III, born July 15, 1800, died August 31, 1880; confirmed at Zion Lutheran, May 20, 1820. Married, March 31, 1822, Magdalena Routzahn (born January 2, 1802, Confirmed June 02, 1816, Zion Lutheran Church, Middletown, Maryland MGCR), daughter of Peter Benjamin and Elizabeth Schriver Routzahn. Elizabeth died January 21, 1873, Tobias died August 31, 1880. Both are buried at Burkittsville Union Church Cemetery. Eleven children.

Tobias owned land named "Felicity" on the main road from Burkittsville to Jefferson, he also owned land named "Lamars Generosity" and "Mill is Safe", located near the Middletown-Jefferson Road. In the 1850 census he claimed real estate worth $17,000 and two slaves. Elizabeth and her husband farmed 278 acres in the Petersville District. In 1850, with the help of 2 teen-age slaves, they produced 1500 bushels of wheat, 50 of rye, 100 of corn, and 400 of oats. Just before the Civil War, she and her husband moved into Burkittsville itself, building the town's first brick house.

Burkittsville was the scene of considerable fighting during the Civil War and it has been said that two unkown Confederate soldiers were buried under a large oak tree southeast of the Horine house. They were killed in the Battle of South Mountain.

I2 John Alpheus Horine, was born September 20, 1824 in Myersville, Maryland, and died May 07, 1915 in Burkittsville, Maryland. He married Frances E. Grove October 13, 1851 in Broad Run, Maryland, daughter of George Grove and Elizabeth Biser.

I3 Joshua Ludwick Horine, born February 12, 1827, died January 18, 1843.

I4 Luther Abraham Tobias Horine, was born July 01, 1830, and died July 27, 1896. He married Susan Rebecca Sheffer October 30, 1857, daughter of Daniel Sheffer and Anna Routzahn.

I5 Ezra Samuel Horine, born December 8, 1832, died June 10, 1916; married Ann Eliza House on January 3, 1854.

I6 Catharine Elizabeth Horine, born June 15, 1835, died December 9, 1836, in Ellerton, St. John's Church, Church Hill.

I8 Dawson Daniel Horine, born September 21, 1838, died August 10, 1844.

I9 Peter Malanchton Horine, born August 11, 1841 in Burkittsville, Maryland., died February 18, 1927 in Burkittsville, Maryland.; married Emma S. Gaver.

I10 Mary Ann Magadelena Horine, was born November 01, 1843 in Burkettsville, Maryland, and died February 17, 1926 in Rockville, KMaryland. She married Josephus Karn December 06, 1864, son of George Karn and Susanna Fink.
