H12 Martha Miller, born 26 Jun 1882, died December 27, 1949; married March 25, 1944 Rufus Marion Flora, born October 25, 1866, died May 26, 1958; Rufus was the son of Benjamin and Martha Barnhart.


MARTHA FLORA DEATH OCCURS AT HOSPITAL
Mrs. Martha Flora, 67, wife of Rufus Flora, of near Painter Creek, died at 4:30 p. m. after a lingering illness from a complication of diseases. She was a hospital patient two weeks.

Mrs. Flora had spent her entire life in the Painter Creek vicinity and was an active member of the Miller Grove church.

Besides the husband, she leaves four stepchildren, Susie Oliver, of West Milton; Joe Flora, of Dayton; Henry Flora, Arcanum, R. R., and William Flora, Brookville, R. R.; two brothers, Jacob Miller, of Buckley, Illinois and Amos Miller, Bradford, and five sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Lear, Dayton; Mrs. Lydia Sunderman, Pasadena, California; Mrs. Hettie Blyly, Napanee, Indiana; Mrs. Susan Ardio, of Los Angles, Cal., and Mrs. Amanda Zeller, Versailles.

Services will be held Saturday at ten a. m. at the Miller Grove church with the Rev. Levi Bowman and the Rev. Jacob Shellenberger officiating. Burial will be in Mote cemetery, near Pitsburg.

The body is at the Miller funeral home in Gettysburg where friends may call after one p. m. Friday. They are requested to omit flowers.


DARKE FARMER FOR 40 YEARS IS DEAD
Rufus M. Flora, 91, who for more than 40 years operated a farm in Franklin township, Darke county, died at 10 p. m. Monday at the home of a son, Willie, on Brookville R. R. 3 after a lingering illness.

Mr. Flora, who had resided with the son for the last 3½ years, was a member of the Miller Grove Old Order German Baptist church in the Painter Creek area.

After a short service at one p. m. Thursday at the son's home, services will be held at the Miller Grove church with the burial in the Mote cemetery at Pitsburg. Friends may call at the son's residence after one p.m. tomorrow. They are asked to omit flowers.

There are more than 80 immediate survivors including two other sons, Joel of Dayton and Henry of Lancaster; one daughter, Mrs. Susie Oliver of West Milton; 20 grandchildren; 56 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Lizena Cool of Bradford and one bother, Amos Flora of Covington.
