Rosella graduated from the Ohio State University School of Engineering and Architecture in June, 1948. While in school, she received the "Woman's Badge" from the honorary Engineering Fraternity Tau Beta Pi, the Undergraduate Architect's Award, served as editor of the Ohio State Engineer and was a resident of the Alumnae Scholarship House. She was one of the first women architects in the state of Ohio.

Rosella was married on 4 June, 1949 to Robert Earl Davis, born 15 August, 1924, died January 10, 2011. Robert was the son of son of Earl A. Davis (March 28, 1888-December 16, 1986) and Florence Esther Bradshaw (August 23, 1881-August 14, 1977).
Robert is a veteran of World War II. He was drafted when he was 18 years old in 1943. He became a technician 5th grade, in the Headquarters Battery, 793rd Field Artillery Battalion. He survived five major battles, but lost some very dear friends.
After the war, Robert graduated from Ohio State University with a Bachelor's and (in 1956) a Master's Degree in Music Education. He retired from teaching music in 1980.
My mother was a gifted amateur photogrtapher, and loved taking slides of her family and many other aspects of her life. The photos were all shot between 1958 and 1983, and most are Kodachromes. DAVIS, Rosella (Horine), age 58 of 650 Kenbrook Dr., passed away Tuesday at her residence after a lengthy illness. She was a retired architect with Smallwood and Assoc. Member of the American Contract Bridge League. Survived by husband Robert E., 2 daughters, Jacklyn Yvonne and husband Steve Cox of Charleston, S.C., and Kara Janelle at home; 1 son Eric and wife Elizabeth of Columbus; 3 grandchildren, Corinne, Lyndon and Ashley Cox. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am Friday at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia with Rev. Paul Chastain officiating. Burial, Popular Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday from 7-9 pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Dayton, Inc., 2181 Embury Park Rd., Dayton, OH.

(1924-2011)Robert Earl Davis Robert Earl Davis passed away quietly January 10 2011, at his home in Crystal River Florida, Florida after a short illness. Robert Davis was born August 15, 1924 in Beaver, Pennsylvania, son of Earl A. Davis (March 28, 1888-December 16, 1986) and Florence Esther Bradshaw (August 23, 1881-August 14, 1977). Robert was a veteran of World War II where he served as a technician 5th grade, in the Headquarters Battery, 793rd Field Artillery Battalion. After the war, Robert graduated from Ohio State University with a Bachelor's and a Master's Degree in Music Education. He married Rosella Horine Davis June 4, 1949 from New Madison, Ohio. Rosella died July 5, 1983.
In 1957 he became the music director at Vandalia Butler High School retiring in 1980, where he was loved by many students. Included in his beloved bands at Vandalia-Butler High School were his three children Eric, Jacklyn, and Kara. Robert continued to teach private music lessons and repair instruments until the day he died.
Robert married his second wife, Patricia A. Greenwald Close, on July 28, 1984. Together they travelled the world visiting places such as St. Petersburg, Russia, Barcelona, Spain, Germany and France. Robert and Patricia lived in Crystal River, Florida.
Robert leaves behind his beloved wife, Patricia; one sister Helen Friend of Yardley, Pennsylvania; son, Eric Timothy Davis and wife Elizabeth Lee Davis of Columbus Ohio; daughter, Jacklyn Yvonne Lawrence and husband Randy Lawrence of Bremen Ohio; Kara Janelle List and husband Mike List, of Allen, Texas; and 7 grandchildren, Corinne McManus, Lyndon Cox, Ashley Cox, Amy Rose Davis, Zane Lawrence, Torin List and Alik List and many, many loyal music students. Patricia's children are: Steven and Deanna Close of Kenilworth, Illinois; Sharon and John Ames of Loveland, Ohio; and 3 grandchildren: Ashley and husband Aaron Dylenski; Taylor Ames; and Ella Ames.
A celebration of life will be held Sunday, January 23, 2011, from 3-4:30 p.m. at Seven Rivers Golf and Country Club. Interment will be in Poplar Hill Cemetery, Vandalia, Ohio on June 25, 2011 at 1:30 PM. Heinz Funeral Home & Cremation, Inverness, FL.
