K3 Alice Catherine Horine, was born July 11, 1923 in Myersville, Frederick County, Maryland, died January 22, 2004 in Myersville. She married John M. A. Scigliano September 28, 1945 in Baltimore, Maryland, son of Anthony Scigliano and Louise Ruma.

Mrs. Alice Catherine Scigliano, 80, of 2320 Michael Road, Myersville, died Thirsday, January 22 (2004) at Kline Hospice House, Mounty Airy.

She was the wife of Dr. John Scigliano, a retired U.S. Navy captain assigned to the U.S. Public Health Service. They were married Sept. 28, 1945.

She was a graduate of Middletown High School and the University of Maryland School of Nursing.

Most of her life she was a homemaker, and was a loving mother. She was a member of the Middletown Food and Friends.

She was an avid reader with a special love of the Middletown Public Library.

Surviving in addition to her husband are twin children, Carol Scigliano of Bel Air, and Christopher Scigliano of Middletown; three grandchildren, Brandie Bittle, Gina Harris and Toni Scigliano; three great-grandchildren; three brothers, Paul Horine of Middletown, Carroll Horine of Frederick, and John Horine of Myersville; and two sisters, Janice Dodson of Martinsburg, W.Va., and Anna Hoffman of Middletown.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Ruth Moulden and Delores Horine.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 26 at Donald B. Thompson Funeral Home, 31 E. Main St. Middletown, with the Rev. Theodore Higby, pastor of Mount Zion United Methodist Church, Myersville, officiatring.

Interment will be in Mount Zion United Methodist Church cemetery.
