"When 2 years of age his parents moved on a farm near Anderson, Madison County, Indiana where he was reared to manhood. in 1869 he returned to Ohio, and February 2, 1871 he was united in marriage to Hettie Miller. To this union were born 10 children - 5 sons and 5 daughters. In March, 1885 he with his family moved to Newton County, Missouri near where the little town of Fairview now stands. In September, 1920 he moved to Anderson County, Kansas, and in the spring of 1926 he moved to the little town of Harris, Kansas, where he spent his last days. He united with the Old German Baptist church in early life and lived faithful until death, having been a member for 60 years. . . . . .he was laid to rest in the Bethel cemetery there to await the resurrection morn."
