J9 Johnnie Mirl Shrader, was born June 21, 1900 in Jordan Springs, Montgomery County, Tennessee, and died October 28, 1982 in Clarksville, Montgomery County, Tennessee. She married James Reynolds Smith December 21, 1919 in Montgomery County, Tennessee, son of James Smith and Nora Johnson. He was born June 15, 1891 in Montgomery County, Tennessee, and died February 13, 1958 in Clarksville, Montgomery County, Tennessee. Johnnie and James are both buried in Dotsonville Baptist Church, Dotsonville, Montgomery County, Tennessee.

Johnnie Mirl and Acie Myrtle Shrader were fraternal twin sisters born six months after their father died of Typhoid Fever. After his death, their mother moved the entire family from Trigg County, Kentucky to Jordan Springs, Tennessee, where Johnnie and Myrtle were born. They lived with their uncle W. Benjamin Hester and their grandmother, Elizabeth Carter Hester.

The following was told to Roger Smith by Norman Smith on January 16, 2002:

"James Reynolds Smith was a sharecropper. He rented various places and they moved fairly often when Norman was little. Norman was born in an area that is now part of Ft. Campbell. He moved to a house on Dotsonville Road (the house is no longer there, but was just down the hill and across the road from where the Dotsonville Church of Christ now stands). Before Norman turned four years old, they moved into a house on Nashville Highway in the Sango area. Within a few years, they had moved back into Dotsonville. By this time, Norman's sister, Louise, had married Raymond Bowers. Raymond owned a grocery store in Dotsonville and had a large house nearby (this house still stands). James Reynolds and his family moved in with Raymond and Louise Bowers in this house. Raymond later sold the house, and the next owner eventually sold the property to James and Mary Bowles, the parents of Norman's wife, Mildred. James and Mary Bowles owned this house until after the death of James."
