Mary Jane Miller and Christopher Wagaman on their Wedding Day, October 29, 1863
Christopher Wagaman (1838-1911) & Mary Jane Miller (1845-1918)
G1 Mary Jane Miller, born December 7, 1845, died January 1, 1918, buried in Harris Creek Cemetery, Bradford, Miami County, Ohio; married October 29, 1863 Christopher Wagaman, born February 1, 1838, died September 14, 1911. They were married by the justice of the peace, J. W. Griffin, in Greenville, Ohio. Seven children. The photo on the right is thought to have been be taken on their Wedding day.

It seems that the Miller and Wagaman families originated from almost the exact region in Switzerland, near Berne, and went from there to Germany at about the same time. They all came to the same county in Ohio, Darke County, and settled within a few miles of each other.

Christopher Wagaman is believed to have been descended from seven Wagaman brothers that came to the United States from Switzerland. It has been said that the first Wagamans were Lutherns pastors in Switzerland.

Not much is known about Christopher's family. He had a bother, Joe Wagamon (?/6/1843 - 2/4/1921) who lived at Woodland, Michigan. Joe made and sold maple syrup. Berthe later lived in Battle Creek, Michigan. Ruth married Walter Herschberger and they lived on the farm Joe had owned. Joe and Walter had one son, Chalmer, born in 1915/16.
