HOKE, John M. 8/20/1931 - 3/26/2012 Passed away peacefully on Monday, March 26th at the University of Michigan Hospital surrounded by his loving family. John was born August 30, 1931 in Darke County, son of John Moses and Mary Hoke. John married the former Patricia Saben on November 22, 1952. He is survived by his four children: Terre Manning (Alan), Jon Hoke (Jody), Brady Hoke (Laura), and Heidi Thomas (Greg), and 11 grandchildren. Alison Leever (Matt), Nicholas Manning (Suzy), Natalie Snell (Jarrett); Mallory (fiance Mark Laumann), Kyle, Carly and Kendall Hoke; Kelly Hoke; Hayden, Quinn, and Brady Thomas and great-grandchildren, Olivia Leever and John Manning.
John graduated from Miami University and attained his masters degree from Xavier University. John worked in the Mad River School District where he served as a teacher, coach, and administrator for 15 years. John then owned and operated a school photography business for many years. John's commitment to and love for his family were felt by all. On behalf of John, his family would like to thank all of those who touched his life and the lives of his family. Pat and their children would like to express how blessed they have been to have had him as a loving husband and father.

John is survived by Basil and Phyllis Morrison (sister-in-law), Phyllis and James Harwood (sister), Dona Ignet (sister), Shirley Hoilman (sister), Janice Davis (sister) and preceded in death by brother Gerald, and sisters, Lois Branigan and Marijean Stiefel. Memorial services will be Sun. April 1st, 2012, 1:30pm, Faith Lutheran Church, 3315 Martel Drive, Dayton, OH. Visitation 1 hour prior to services (12:30-1:30pm)
