Noyd William Embrey (1908-1973)

H6 Noyd William Embrey, born April 25, 1908, Fairview, Newton County, Missouri; died October 1, 1973, Fairview, Newton County, Missouri; married Ava Leta Howard, June 14, 1930, Newton County, Missouri; born February 8, 1904, Powell, McDonald County, Missouri; died October 9, 1975, Fairview, Newton County, Missouri. Noyd and Ava are both buried in Dice Cemetery, Fairview, Missouri.

Noyd William Embrey was a Grain elevator owner & operator. Ava Leta Howard was a Home Economics teacher. She liked visiting friends and relatives and taking trips out of state. She visited the Holy Land once. She was a good pitch player. She fixed excellent meals, but she wanted it all eaten; she did not want leftovers.

Obituary for Ava Leta Howard:

"Fairview, Missouri - Mrs. Ava L. Embrey, 71, Fairview, died at 12:15 a.m. Thursday after suffering an apparent heart attack in her home.

Mrs. Embrey was born February 8, 1904 at Powell, Mo., and was a retired schoolteacher, having taught in the Fairview, Rocky Comfort and Neosho school systems. She was a member of the Fairview United Methodist Church, the Fairview WMU and the Fairview Senior Citizens Cluborn She was also a member of the Missouri Retired Teachers Association. She married Noyd W. Embrey on June 13, 1930. He died October 1, 1973.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Gloria Ann Chaney, Jefferson City, Mo., and three grandchildren.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m., Saturday at the Fairview United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Don Sheppard and the Rev. Robert Dart officiating. Burial will be in the Dice Cemetery, Fairview, under the direction of McQueen Funeral Home, Wheaton, Missouri.

The casket will be closed at the beginning of the service and remain closed. The family will receive friends from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. today at the funeral home."
