G8 Elizabeth Horine, was born August 12, 1771 in Frederick County, Maryland, and died April 23, 1848. She married Johannes Jacob Summers ca. 1792, son of Valentine Summers and Julianna Schreyack. Eight children.
Elizabeth Horine was Baptized on September 13, 1771, at the Frederick Evangelical Lutheran Church (see photo on right), sponsored by her parents. She is buried at Church Hill Cemetery, near Myersville. She was a sponsor at the baptism of Fridrich, son of Fridrich & Anna Maria Thiel on 11/11/1787.
It has been claimed by others that Johannes Jacob Summers came from Germany with two brothers. I think the baptism records indicate he was born here in Frederick County, Maryland. Johannes Jacob Summers was baptized on March 21, 1769, Reformed Church, Frederick County, sponsored by Jacob & Anna Maria Paulus (Bowlus). It was also stated in "History of Frederick County, Maryland" , (Williams & McKinsey) that he participated in the "War of 1812". This is possible, however he would have been 44 years of age. "Maryland German Church Records" has him listed as Johannes, when he and Elizabeth Horine Summers baptized Maria in 1806.
