E3 Mahala Florence Cairns, born October 21, 1876, died after April 1930; married 1900 Walter Chambers Bradish, born December 6, 1873 in Jacksonville, Illinois, died November 29, 1968 in Jacksonville, Morgan County, Illinois. Walter Chambers Bradish was an insurance company executive. Mahala was adopted by Lemuel G. Cairns .

Walter Chambers Bradish married (2) Luella Welshimer, born 1886, died 1977. Walter and Luella are buried in Diamond Grove Cemetery, Jacksonville, Illinois.

Walter Bradish Dies, Rites To Be Held Today

Walter Chambers Bradish, 95, died here early Friday afternoon following an extended illness. A long time resident of the city he lived in Texas for 14 years, returning to Jacksonville in 1962.

The deceased was born in this city at 829 West State street, the home of his grandparents, Col. and Mrs. George M. Chambers. He was the son of Charles E. and Ella C. Bradish and was one of five children. Surviving is a brother Horace of Waterloo, Iowa. A brother, Charles and two sisters, Bessie and Essie, preceded him in death.

He was married in 1900 to Mahala Cairns and they became parents of two sons who survive their father, Philip E., of Jacksonville and Walter C. Bradish, Jr., of Cleveland, Ohio. There are four grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Mahala C. Bradish is deceased.

In 1944 Mr. Bradish married Louella W. Welshimer and she survives. From 1948 to 1962, they lived in Mineral Wells, Texas.

Mr. Bradish was in the insurance business for a number of years, having served as vice president and director for American Bankers Insurance company. He was active in Republican politics on both local and state levels, in Illinois and Texas. He served the party under Gov. Yates and Gov. Emmerson.

The deceased was a member of the Presbyterian church, Sons of the American Revolution; IOOF Lodge; Elks Lodge; Knights Templar and was a 32nd Degree Mason.

The remains were taken to Cody and Son Memorial Home where friends may call.

Funeral services will be at 23 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with Rev. James S. Bair officiating. Interment will be at Diamond Grove Cemetery.
