Gerald E. "Gene" Hesson, 57, of 521 Baughman St., Ansonia, died on arrival at Wayne Hospital at 2:33 p.m. Monday at Wayne Hospital. He suffered an apparent heart attack. Mr. Hesson was a native of the Rossburg area, son of the late Lewis and Bessie (Miller) Hesson. He was a heavy equipment operator for Richard Campbell Bulldozing. A veteran of World War II, having served with the U.S. Army, he was a member of the Greenville Fraternal Order of Eagles lodge. Surviving are his wife, Alice (Koger), a daughter, Vicky Rammel of Zanesville, two sons, Jim and Jeff at home; four grandchildren; one brother, Paul of Orlando, Fla., and four sisters, Dorothy Labig, Mary Hines, and Marge Kell all of Greenville, and Betty Mayo of Rossburg. A brother, Lloyd, is deceased. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thirsday at Oliver Funeral Home, Ansonia, with the Rev. Thomas Meyer officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Ansonia Rescue Squad.
