Miller, born June 8, 1817 in Montgomery County, Ohio, died 25 August 25, 1900; married 1838 in Union Township, Elkhart County, Indiana Rachel Bigler, born May 1, 1817 in West Bethlehem Township, Washington County, Pennsylvania, died March 11, 1893 in Elkhart County, Indiana. Rachel was the daughter of David Bigler and Nancy Grabill. David and Rachel are buried in West Union Cemetery, Union Township, Elkhart County, Indiana.

David C. Miller was a Veteran of the Civil War. He was a private in the 29th Regiment Indiana Infantry, Company K (M540 roll 51).

David C. Miller, aged 83 years, and a pioneer resident of Elkhart county, coming from Ohio, died at his home in Union township Saturday after a long illness of cancer of the stomach. He was one of the first settlers. Three of his daughters married brothers, Mrs. Daniel Wysong, Mrs. Josiah Wysong and Mrs. Henry Wysong of Elkhart township. The other surviving children, there having been nine in the family, are Mrs. Joseph Geyer and Jacob Miller of Elkhart county; Mrs. Adam Miller of North Dakota. The funeral occurred Sunday morning.
