Cassel, son of Michael Cassel and Mary Walmer, born May 28, 1857 in Newberry Township, Miami County, Ohio, died November 4, 1949 in Adrian, Michigan.

Cassel, John H., son of Michael and Mary Walmer Cassel, was born in Miami County, Ohio, May 28, 1857, and died Nov. 4, 1949, at the home of his son in Adrian, Mich. On Feb. 11, 1877, he was united in marriage to Susan Miller, and to this union were born two children. They had the honor of being the longest married couple in the state of Michigan. He was a member of the Church of the Brethren. He is survived by his wife, one son, one grandson, one great-grandson and one great-great-granddaughter. Funeral services were held in the Harris Creek church near Bradford, Ohio, by his pastor Bro. H. H. Hendricks. Burial was at Harris Creek.-H. H. Hendricks, Adrian, Mich.

Cassel, Susan, daughter of Abraham and Sally Bashore Miller, was born in Miami County, Ohio, April 7, 1857, and died Oct. 7, 1950, at the home of her son in Adrian, Mich. On Feb. 11, 1877, she was united in marriage to John H. Cassel, who preceded her in death on Nov. 4, 1949. To this union were born two children. They celebrated their seventy-second wedding anniversary in the February preceding his death. She and her husband united with the Church of the Brethren shortly after their marriage. She is survived by one son, one grandson, one great-grandson, two great-great-granddaughters and two sisters. Funeral services were held in the Everiss funeral home at Adrian, Mich., and in the Harris Creek church near Bradford, Ohio, by her pastor, the undersigned. Grow son of William Grow and Elizabeth Martin, born February 2, 1873 in Adams Township, Darke County, Ohio, died August 30, 1947 in Wayne Township, Darke County, Ohio, divorced; married (2) May 11, 1897 Darke County, Ohio, Charles Wattery aka Watterly son of Andrew Wattery and Effie York, born 1875 in York Township, Darke County, Ohio, died 1966, divorced; married (3) October 8, 1900 Covington, Kentucky, Richard Esky son of Henry E. Esky and Anna Margaret Beck, born in March 1875 in Ohio, died 1924. Dora's last known address was 140 E. Buttler Street in Adrian, Michigan. Samuel and Charles are buried Greenlawn Cemetery in Versailles, Ohio. Richard is buried Highland Cemetery in Covington, Ohio beside his mother, with a marker engraved only with Spanish-American War, Co. C, 3rd Ohio Inf.
