MISS MYRTLE REDMAN, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. N. Redman, died at her home 2 miles south of Gettysburg, Jan. 20th, aged 20 years, 11 months and 18 days; funeral at Beech Grove, Tuesday, conducted by Elders Stiver and Metzcar; interment in Gettysburg cemetery, The deceased had been an invalid for 14 years, not able to speak a word in that time, caused by a sudden spell of sickness at school.

Susan Myrtle, youngest daughter of John and Susan Redman, was born in Van Buren township, February 2, 1885. She was unusually bright in her early years, with bright prospects for great intellectual developments, especially was she strong in the memorizing and singing of church songs. When but a little girl of few years, when she accompanied her parents to the sanctuary, upon her return home she was able to sing many of the songs she heard sung, and the last song which her parents remeber of hearing her sing where these words: "Perhaps I'll be an Angel before another day." It is with great force that these words have been riven to the memories of her sorrow stricken parents for fourteen years. At the age of 7 years she was stricken with a malady which proved itself entirely incurable. After about four years her mental powers were entirely dethroned and for the past ten years was a helpless child, wholly dependent upon the family. About three weeks ago, she became afflicted with lagrippe and paralysis, during which time she suffered much until about ten minutes before midnight January 20, 1906, the Death Angel relieved her from her earthly sufferings, aged 20 years, 11 months and 18 days. Funeral services held at Beech church, January 23, by Rev. J. H. Christian and Rev. Metzgar. Interment in Gettysburg cemetery.
