Jacob Miller Passes Away at 3The Miller home on Green street is in sadness and sorrow at the loss of a beloved husband and father. Jacob Miller, who after suffering worse than death, passed away yesterday afternoon at a little after 3 o'clock. He has been the victim of the terrible disease of cancer and has patiently born his suffering for the past three months. Mr. Miller was a resident of Van Buren township before he moved to this city in 1900, and shortly after moving here was appointed Deputy Sheriff under Sheriff Frank Smith. While acting as Deputy Sheriff he well filled the office and at the expiration of his term in 1905, was appointed to the office of patrolman in Greenville, and while on the police force made many friends throughout the city. He leaves besides his devoted wife a family of nine children, two of them are married.They are: Mrs. Bayton Ullery, of near Greenville; Mrs. Harry Baker, of Arcanum; Earl, Hazel, Neva, Glen, Ward, Louise, and Naomi, who reside at home. Three brothers and three sisters also survive him. The funeral services have been arranged for Sunday afternoon and will be in charge of K. of P. Lodge, of which Mr. Miller has been an active member and a beloved brother. The Lodge will attend in a body, and no more beautiful ceremonies are conducted at the cemetery than those of this organization. A short service will be held at the Lodge at 1:30, and from there the body will be taken to the Christian Church and at 9 o'clock Rev... (rest of document missing)
