Belonged to the Gaston Avenue Baptist Church. Survived by his wife, Mrs. Lucile Cullom Zercher, and a son, Capt. John Cullom Zercher of the Chemical Warfare Service. Died at Baylor Hospital following a brief illness (heart attack). Was a department manager of the Graybar Electric Company. Had been employed by the Graybar Company for the past 35 years. He was a native of Marion, Kansas. He was an active member of the Gaston Avenue Baptist Church. He served on the initial advisory committee to the war schools conducted in Dallas, and was a member and past president of the southwestern section of the Illuminating Engineering Society, member and ex-director of the Dallas Advertising League, member and past chairman of the adequate wiring committee of Dallas and a member of the Dallas Technical Club and the American Institute of Electrical Engineers. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lucile Zercher; one daughter, and son, Captain John Cullom Zercher, all of Dallas. Funeral services are pending arrangements at the George A. Brewer Chapel.

Died – Saturday, July 15 (?), 1944 at Baylor Hospital in Dallas
Residence – 2503 Cambria
Resident of Dallas since boyhood. Died at a local hospital after an illness of several years. (heart attack) On Jan 18, 1944 completed 35 years with the Graybar Electric Company; started there when it was a branch of Western Electric Company. On that anniversary he was honored with a dinner and presented with a silver tray. Member and one time director of the Dallas Advertising League, a member of American Institute of Electric Engineers and the Dallas Technical Club. For a number of years he served as chairman of the adequate wiring committee of Dallas and was a member of the advisory committee of the Dallas Board of Education’s War School.
