Christena Miller (1761-1815)

LINE: A1 Johann Michael (Mueller) Miller | B6 Johann Michael Miller, Jr. | C7 Philip Jacob Miller

D6 Christena Miller, born December 4, 1761 at 10 o'clock in the forenoon, died 7 March, 1815, Hamilton Township, Warren County, Ohio. She married ca. 1780 Johannes Heinrich Snell, born March 20, 1756, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, died October 6, 1827, Hamilton Township, Warren County, Ohio.

She married Heinrich Schnell probably in 1780 in Washington Co, MD. Henry Snell, as he was later called, was born Nov 18, 1756 in Germany, son of Johan Georg Schnell and Maria Catharina Langin. The parents with Henry and probably three other children came to the Colonies on the Ship Recovery , landing in Philadelphia in October 1771. The entire Schnell family were indentured to pay for their passage, with Henry finishing his servitude about 1778. Henry died October 5, 1827, Hamilton Twp, Warren Co, Ohio. Christena and Henry's graves are both in the Basinger Cemetery in that township. Henry and Christena were the parents of eleven children.

It is thought that he inherited his parent's farm Dry Spring near Hagerstown, Maryland in 1792 which they sold on December 5, 1796 in preparation for their move to Kentucky. From her father's estate, they inherited 200 acres in Warren County, Ohio, deeded to them September 22, 1809.

Henry married (2) November 30, 1817 in Clermont County, Ohio, Permelia Strong Adkins, widow of Philip Adkins, by whom there were four children.
