Death claimed another Peebles resident last Thursday noon when the soul of Mrs. John Custer winged its flight heavenward. Deceased had been a patient sufferer from tubercular trouble for more than two years, the immediate cause of her death being due, however, to pneumonia. Mrs. Custer was born and reared in the vicinity of Peebles and at the time of her death was forty-nine years of age. All who had the pleasure of her acquaintance esteemed her for her most excellent qualities and her pleasant disposition.

Deceased is survived by her husband, a daughter, Mrs. J. C. Bacon, of Bastrop. La., and two sons, Thomas, of Wisconsin and Oliver, of Xenia. She is also survived by her mother and three brothers.

The funeral which was held Sunday afternoon from the M. E. church, Peebles, was a beautiful testimonial to the deceased; a silent but impressive token of the esteem in which she was held by the people of her home town and community in general. The floral emblems which were profuse and beautiful, the words of the officiating minister, and the expressions of friends testified to the exemplary and useful life of the deceased in a manner that could not have been more fitting. At the conclusion of the service her remains were interred in the Locust Grove cemetery.

C1 Oliver (Ollie) Clarence Custer, born October 2, 1876, died November 1, 1935 in Xenia, Ohio (view Death Certificate); married married March 7, 1907 Isabelle Dodge; Oliver is buried in Woodland Cemetery, Dayton, Ohio.

C2 Thomas Custer, born September 1881, died in a traffic accident in Superior, Wisconsin in 1917.

C3 Clara Custer, born July 20, 1885, died October 1976 in Adams County, Ohio; married J. Clifford Bacon, born May 8, 1879 in Madisonville, Ohio, died March 14, 1930 in Peebles, Ohio (view Death Certificate). J. Clifford Bacon's parents were George M. Bacon and Jane McFarland
