ALICE MALEK, FORMER U. S. LAWYER, DIESServices for Mrs. Alice M. McClanahan Malek, 69, of 630 S. Gunderson Av., Oak Park, who resigned as an assistant United States attorney since 1955, will be held at 2 p. m. Monday in the chapel at 25 E. Erie st. She died Thuirsday night in Mary Thompson hospital.
Mrs. Malek was admitted to the bar in 1915 and praciticed law in Chicago in partnership with her father, Archie A. McClanahan, from 1920 until his death in 1940. Then she operated her own law office until named an assistant United States attorney. She wrote a book, "Her Father's Partner," about her association with her father. She served on a number of Chicago Bar association committees and once was chief attorney for the United Charities' legal aid bureau.
Surviving are her husband, Alois W. Malek, and a brother, Archie A. McClanahan Jr.
