John Bell (1732-1810)

B2 John Bell, born 1732, died August 1810, Cecil Twp, Washington County, PA. Married ca. 1762 to Elizabeth Boyd, born 1735, died ca. 1800. She was the daughter of Robert Boyd. John Bell was a farmer and lived on land north of his father's until 1772 when he moved to West Pennsborough Township, Cumberland County, PA. In 1803 he moved to Cecil Township, Washington County to join his oldest son Robert.

John was a vereran of the Revolutionary War. He was a private, along with son Robert, in Co. 2, Battalion 2, Cumberland County Militia, under Captain James McFarlane in 1780 and 1781. Had issue:

C2 William Bell, born 1765 Cumberland County, PA. Married Elizabeth Stevenson of Newville, PA 9/15/1796 in Big Spring Church. Died 1831/1833.

C3 Jane Bell, born 1765. Died 02/07/1836. Married John Ralston in Washington County.

C4 Joseph Bell, born 1770. Died Columbiana Co., Ohio ca. 1840. Married Elizabeth Sharp 04/30/1795.

C5 George Bell, born 1772. Died 04/14/1833, Washington Co. Married 04/26/1810 to Mary Williston, born 1784. Died 04/10/1816.

C6 John Bell, born 1774. Died 10/07/1855, Washington Co. Married ca 1807 to Mary Hall, born 1786. Died 09/02/1874.

C7 Thomas Bell, born 1775. Died 04/25/1825. Married in 1802 to Mary McAllister, born 08/04/1786. Died 05/02/1834, Allegheny Co., PA.
